The 4 days tour from marrakech to merzouga begins with an early pick-up from either the airport or your accommodation in Marrakech. From there, you’ll drive through the stunning High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, with stops along the way to enjoy panoramic views of the breathtaking landscapes.
Next, you’ll visit the famous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a fortified village designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This iconic location has been featured in numerous films, including Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, as well as in the Game of Thrones TV series. Afterward, we’ll continue to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gate of the Desert.”
We began our exploration of Ouarzazate, starting with a visit to the Atlas Studios, where several famous films were filmed. Next, we head to the Taourirt Kasbah, an ancient fortified mud castle. We then depart towards Agdz and join the Draa Valley, home to Morocco’s longest river. As we drive along the valley, we’ll stop to enjoy panoramic views of the palm groves, stunning Kasbahs, and Berber villages. You’ll have free time for lunch in either Nkob or Alnif.
After lunch, we continue Erg Chebbi dunes 4-day trip, passing through Rissani. Upon reaching the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, you’ll switch to camels to begin your trek across the desert. A stop will be made atop a large dune for you to witness the magical sunset. We’ll then proceed to the camp, which combines traditional nomadic tents with the luxury of a hotel. In the campsite, you can enjoy live Berber drum music and dance around the campfire under a sky full of stars.
Wake up early to witness the stunning sunrise in the heart of the desert. After some free time for breakfast, you’ll return by camel to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting. We then leave the desert and head to Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains a major trading hub in the region, with its vibrant souk bustling on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
After a stroll through the Rissani souk, we continue our journey to Erfoud, where we visit one of the workshops that specializes in fossilized marble. Next, we drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, heading towards the Todra Gorges. Carved by the Todra River, these gorges create a dramatic canyon with towering red cliffs, making it a popular spot for rock climbers. You’ll have time to explore the gorges and admire the stunning scenery. Afterward, enjoy some free time for lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, we continue to the Dades Valley, passing through Boumalne Dades. Along the way, we’ll stop at the famous “Monkey Fingers” rock formation and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Dades Valley from a mountaintop. The day concludes with dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.
On the final day of your 4-day Sahara tour Morocco, we head to Kalaa Magouna to visit the Rose Valley, famous for its annual Rose Festival held every May. During the festival, locals showcase a variety of rose products, including perfumes, rose water, oils, and cosmetics. Afterward, we’ll drive through several Kasbahs, including the Amridil Kasbah, nestled among the palm groves of Skoura.
We then reach Ouarzazate, where you’ll have free time for lunch in town. From there, we continue towards Marrakech, passing through the Tizi-N-Tichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains. The tour concludes with a drop-off at your accommodation or the airport in Marrakech.
