Next, we drive just 30 km to reach Meknes, the Ismaili capital and one of Morocco’s grand imperial cities. Here, we explore iconic landmarks such as the magnificent Bab Al-Mansour gate, the serene Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, the historic granaries, and the revered Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail.

After breakfast, we head south, driving through Imouzzer towards Ifrane, a charming city known for its cool climate, snow-capped peaks, and alpine-style architecture. It’s no wonder it’s often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” From there, we continue to the famous Cedar Forest, home to the playful Barbary macaques. Feel free to feed them as you explore the forest’s serene beauty.
Next, we drive to Midelt, where you’ll have free time for lunch. Afterward, we continue our journey to Merzouga, passing through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and the picturesque Ziz Valley, making stops along the way to capture panoramic views of the stunning landscapes.
We arrive at the Sahara Desert of Merzouga in the afternoon, where you’ll swap your vehicle for camels and go on a memorable ride across the golden dunes. Stop atop a high dune to watch the mesmerizing sunset over the desert. Then, you’ll proceed to your desert camp, a unique blend of traditional nomadic tents and luxurious hotel comfort. In the evening, enjoy the rhythm of Berber drums, dance around the campfire, and gaze up at the endless sky filled with stars.
An early wake-up call is essential to witness the breathtaking sunrise in the heart of the desert. After soaking in the peaceful moment, enjoy some free time for breakfast. Then, you’ll return to Merzouga on camels, where your driver will be waiting to continue the journey.
We depart the desert and head toward Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet, which still serves as a major trading hub in the region. After exploring the lively Rissani souk, we make our way to Erfoud, where you’ll have the chance to visit a local workshop specializing in fossilized marble.
Next, we drive through the lush palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, eventually reaching the stunning Todra Gorges. Carved by the Todra River, these dramatic red cliffs rise sharply, creating a magnificent canyon that attracts rock climbers from around the world. Take your time to explore the gorges and marvel at the natural beauty surrounding you. You’ll have some free time to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
Following lunch, we continue to the Dades Valley, passing through the town of Boumalne Dades. We’ll make essential stops at the “Monkey Fingers” rock formation and at a viewpoint offering panoramic views of the valley. Finally, we’ll settle in for dinner and an overnight stay at a comfortable hotel.
